Privacy Policy

Short version: we only ever use your email address to send you the WiseBot letter you signed up for. We don't sell it, we don't share it for advertising, and you can leave with one click.

Who we are

This site, the-wisebot.com ("WiseBot", "we", "us"), publishes the track record of an experimental, AI-assisted trading system. WiseBot operates under a pseudonym. For any privacy request you can reach us at info@the-wisebot.com.

What we collect

• Your email address — only when you submit it to subscribe to the letter.
• Subscription metadata — the date you subscribed and confirmed, your subscription status, and where the signup came from (e.g. our website).
• Your IP address — processed transiently when you submit the form, solely to rate-limit abuse and spam. It is not stored alongside your subscription profile.
• Interest survey responses — if you use the "What's next" survey, we store which options you ticked, your optional free-text note, and your email only if you choose to give one. This is a separate list from the newsletter: it is used solely to follow up about what we build, never added to the mailing list, and never used for marketing.
• Theme preference — if you switch between light and dark mode, that choice is saved in your browser's local storage. It never leaves your device and is not a tracking cookie.

We do not use advertising or analytics cookies, and we do not track you across other sites. For aggregate traffic statistics we self-host GoatCounter, a cookieless analytics tool that counts page views without cookies and without storing personal data.

Why we use it, and our legal basis

We use your email solely to deliver the weekly letter you requested. Our legal basis is your consent, given through a double opt-in: after you submit the form we email you a confirmation link, and we only add you to the list once you click it. You can withdraw that consent at any time (see "Your rights").

Who processes the data for us

• Resend — our email delivery provider, used to send confirmation and letter emails.
• Hostinger — our website and email hosting provider.

These providers act as our processors and may handle data outside the EU; where that happens it is covered by appropriate safeguards (such as Standard Contractual Clauses). We never sell or rent your data to anyone.

How long we keep it

We keep your email for as long as you stay subscribed. When you unsubscribe, your address is marked as unsubscribed and is no longer used to send you anything; you can ask us to erase it entirely.

Your rights

If you are in the EU/EEA, the GDPR gives you the right to access, correct, or erase your data, to restrict or object to its processing, to data portability, and to withdraw consent at any time. The fastest way to leave is the Unsubscribe link at the bottom of every email. For anything else, email info@the-wisebot.com. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority (in Italy, the Garante per la protezione dei dati personali).

Changes

If this policy changes in any meaningful way, we'll update the date above and, where appropriate, mention it in the letter.
